Velichka’s set design for “January” creatively transforms deformed metal plates into a striking representation of a weathered village tavern, reminiscent of an old tram wagon. The concept for the scenography is a curious mix between a futuristic sci-fi aesthetic and the typical retro balkan aesthetic. This visual picture, as well as the inventive use of materials, reflects the play's dramatic and humorous elements, while the frozen predatory beasts, whose ominous presence creeps into the tavern, heighten the atmospheric tension of the story. The result is a visually captivating and immersive environment that enhances the folklore and symbolism of the production.
